Traditional and natural medicine may be a great method for those who struggle with chronic stress, trauma, illnesses, gut issues, chronic migraines, or physical discomfort. Often times doctors may only treat the surface level symptom with a solution that can only provide temporary relief, however does not address the underlying root issue. To get these issues addressed, it is best to seek out a functional medicine doctor or a office that focuses on integrative health (which combines both eastern and western medicine). The goal for the methods provided below are to assist you in exploring what tools may be effective for you long-term so that you are able to independently manage your own pain and stress levels rather than depending on temporary relief (and saving money from repeated doctor visits!)

  • Traditional medicine in these slides can be referred to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), eastern medicine, holistic medicine, or anything that uses the whole food/herb from nature or earth for relief. Treatment focuses on the person's body and well being as a whole (i.e. stress, what they are eating, daily lifestyle, etc.). You will often find this method used in Eastern countries (India, Korean, Taiwan, etc.).

  • Conventional modern medicine refers to pills, drugs, including invasive treatments such as surgery. Treatments focus on quick relief from the specific symptoms. You will often find this as the primary form of method for the European and U.S. countries.

  • Both methods are backed by evidence-based research, however some natural herbs and treatments may have more research on it's effectiveness than others

  • Both traditional medicine and modern medicine can have risks and side effects and is dependent on each individual, so it is important to do your research, refer to a doctor, or start with a small dosage prior to attempting any to resolve an ailment
