LIVE CEU Event August 7: Beyond Compliance: Offering Collaborative and Holistic Parent Training
Join us August 7th 12:00pm Pacific time for a LIVE discussion between Annie & Malorie on how to offer holistic and neurodivergent-affirming caregiver support. Eligible for one CEU for BCBA’s, but this event is open to non-BCBA’s as well!
Featured Speakers:
Malorie Sanchez – Parent Support Coach, Neurodivergent Mom, and Mom of 2 children with ASD
Annie Chen – Trauma-Informed BCBA, Breath Coach, with 11+ years of experience in the field
Course Summary
Traditional parent training models often emphasize strict compliance and procedural fidelity, which can result in strain, resistance, or burnout for families. Beyond Compliance: Offering Collaborative and Holistic Parent Training shifts the focus toward a trauma-informed, compassionate, and relationship-driven approach to caregiver support.
Co-led by a trauma-informed BCBA and a neurodivergent parent support coach, this 1-hour CEU event bridge clinical practice with the lived experiences of families raising autistic children. Attendees will explore strategies for moving away from compliance-heavy frameworks and toward collaborative, holistic systems that honor nervous system regulation, parent wellbeing, and neurodiversity-affirming care.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
Identify the Limitations of Compliance-Focused Models: Differentiate between traditional compliance-driven parent training and a neurodiversity-affirming, collaborative consultation model.
Apply Trauma-Informed & Holistic Strategies: Describe key components of trauma-informed care and nervous system regulation (such as somatic/breathwork tools) to better support parent well-being and engagement during ABA service delivery.
Enhance Caregiver Collaboration & Buy-In: Implement compassionate, parent-friendly communication strategies that foster strong therapeutic relationships with caregivers of autistic individuals.
This will be conversation and discussion format, so be ready to come with questions and/or comments!
*Meeting Link will be sent to you the day before.
This is part of Annie’s “Raising Our Voices Series”. Please explore her other CEU series with other practitioners here.
