Managing conflict between two siblings (or any two children) is never easy. One of the biggest barriers to this is the lack of modeling and support we were shown by our parents and other adults growing up on how to manage conflict ourselves. These slides review (from an adult or parents perspective) of how to begin managing sibling conflict, even the big scary fights. This is a foundational piece to review BEFORE attempting to practice or apply any of these strategies. This content goes over 7 repair strategies of how to respond, however its recommended to review this content IN ORDER, as shifting the mindset and learning how to connect with yourself (as an adult) is a crucial component in order to implementing the repair strategies effectively. These evidence-based strategies offer a compassionate and trauma-informed approach. I highly encourage you to engage with the homework and discuss your answers with someone, or more effectively, book a 1:1 session with me so that you get the full depth explanation of each slide as well as opportunities to practice and apply these skills so that you feel fully prepared and confident when conflicts DO arise!
